Ms. Michele Peters

 SECRETARY

I retired in 2003 from a private publishing company after 33 years of employment. I have worked at St. Luke since 2006 where I have served as secretary for Fr. Charles Moffatt, Fr. Joseph Begay, Fr. Joseph Del Vecchio and currently Fr. Cornelius Ejiogu. I really enjoy my job because of the beautiful priests that I have had the honor of serving. Not to mention all of the wonderful parishioners that I have had the opportunity to work for. Thank you.

Mrs. Shirley William

Director of Religious Education

I retired from the DC Department of Corrections in 1999 after 19 years as a prison psychologist, Acting Deputy Warden, and Chief of the Reception Diagnostic Center. Prior to that, I had spent 18 years with the Department of Human Services where I worked with abused and neglected children in the foster care system. After retiring from government services, I spent an additional eleven years as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in private agencies, continuing to work with neglected and abused children.

I have been at St. Luke’s Church since 1958, starting out in the CYO, and being a member of the choir and then gradually becoming a member of the CCD teaching staff. I was appointed DRE by Fr. Stephen Brett upon my completion of the EPS Program. I was Baptized and Confirmed here at St. Luke’s in 1958. I guess one might say children have been my life’s work.
